“Therefore, putting away lying, ‘Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,’ for we are members of one another.”
Walking in Truth in a World That Normalizes Deception
The Christian life is not built on appearances. It is built on truth. In Ephesians 4:25, the apostle Paul speaks plainly and pastorally to the church. He reminds us that truth is not optional for believers. It is foundational.
Paul begins with the word “therefore.” That word connects this command to what came before it. In the previous verses, Paul taught that when we come to Christ, we put off the old man and put on the new man, created according to God in righteousness and holiness. The church does not need better marketing. It needs greater integrity. God moves powerfully where His people walk in truth, humility, and love. When believers choose honesty over comfort, light over darkness, and obedience over image, the presence of God follows.
