Loved in imperfection

Many Christians believe God loves them more when they are perfect. They think they must overcome all struggles or follow strict rules. This belief can stop us from growing in faith.

But the Gospel shows us God's true character. His love is not based on our performance. *But God proves his own wonderful, unconditional, and profound love for us in the undeniable fact that Christ Jesus lovingly died on the expiatory and redemptive cross for us, while we were still exhausted, immature, and rebellious sinners.*

This means God loved us even when we were sinners. **His great love for you is not tied to your efforts.** He came to us when we were at our worst.

**You are fully accepted by God through Jesus.** Rest in this promise. This amazing love will slowly change you and lead to good works.
