HOW I STOPPED HEARING STRANGE VOICES

I discovered something in John 10 that completely changed the way I understood hearing God's voice.

Jesus said, “ *My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.”*

When I saw this, Kai...!

I stopped.

I began to meditate on it deeply.

*I hear God's voice. I follow Him. And the voice of a stranger I cannot hear.*

I didn't just read the scripture and move on. I stayed with it. As I was meditating on it, *I started praying in tongues.* I prayed in tongues and *prayed in tongues until* the reality of what Jesus said began to dawn on me.

I prayed in tongues while meditating on that truth.

I kept praying only in tongues.

I kept praying in tongues on that truth.

And I prayed in tongues until something shifted in my consciousness.

The truth just dawned on me.

*I hear God's voice.*

Not sometimes.

Not occasionally.

Not after struggling for hours to determine whether a voice is God.

*I hear God's voice.*

And since Monday, I have been unable to hear the voice of my mind, my feelings, my senses, or the voice of the enemy.

*I only hear the voice of God, clearly and accurately.*

This is not something I am trying to convince myself of. It has become my consciousness.

I have become so conscious of the voice of the Spirit within me that the other voices have become completely foreign to me. The voice of fear, the voice of doubt, the voice of my senses, the voice of feelings, the voice of reasoning that is contrary to God, I don't hear them anymore.

I hear God.

And the reason is simple:

*I am His sheep.*

Jesus didn't say His sheep struggle to know His voice. He said His sheep hear His voice.

He didn't say His sheep hear every voice and then spend their lives trying to figure out which one belongs to Him. He said they hear His voice, they follow Him, and the voice of a stranger they will not follow.

That is the reality I have entered into.

*My dear, pray in tongues.*

Pray in tongues.

Pray in tongues while meditating on the Word.

Don't stop at reading the scripture. Stay with it until the truth becomes alive in you. Stay with it until it is no longer merely something written in the Bible but something you know in your spirit.

*Pray in tongues until you start feeling the Person within you.*

Pray until your consciousness becomes flooded with the awareness of the One who lives in you.

Pray until you become so acquainted with Him that His voice becomes the only voice you recognise.

There is Someone living in you.

There is Someone speaking from within you.

There is Someone leading you.

*The Holy Ghost is not far away from you.*

He is in you.

And when you become deeply conscious of the Person within you, you will discover that hearing God is not as difficult as you were taught.

You are His sheep.

*You hear His voice.*

You follow Him.

*And the voice of a stranger, you cannot hear.*
