September 4 - Guard Your Inputs
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” (Romans 12:2 NIV)
Toolbox Talk:
Discipline isn’t only what you do. It’s what you allow in. What you watch, scroll, listen to and repeat becomes part of you. Guarding your heart protects your choices before the pressure hits. If you keep feeding yourself rubbish, it shows up later in your mood, speech and actions. Protect your inputs and your life becomes more balanced, peaceful and enjoyable.
Jobsite Story:
I’ve seen blokes get sloppy at work because they were cooked mentally from late nights and constant noise. When they’ve curbed their habits, their focus and mood improved fast. Inputs always show up in outputs.
Debrief:
What input is dragging you down right now?
What boundary can you set today to protect your mind and heart?
Prayer:
Lord, help me guard my heart. Give me discipline with what I allow in and strength to hold boundaries. Amen.
Takeaway:
Protect your inputs.
