A PRESENT TO GOD
KEY VERSE: “… that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” (ROMANS 12:1b)
BIBLE TEXT: ROMANS 12:1-3
Everyone likes to receive a gift. Even the richest person on earth will be happy to receive a present. Gifts are really appreciated particularly when it meets the need of the one who receives it; that is, if it is what the person has been desiring to have. It is common to give presents to your friends and siblings, but the last person you imagine you can ever give something to is God. We often feel God is too rich. He owns everything in heaven and on earth: what can we give to Him? God desires a present from you: your heart and your whole body.
Give Him your heart: your thoughts and motives, your mouth: your words and songs, your hand: what you touch and take, your eyes: what you watch and delight to see, your legs: where you go to and how you play, your ears: the music you enjoy and the words you hear. Give everything about your body as a present to God. Make all a living, holy, acceptable and reasonably present to God. Your body is not your own, it is God's. He made you in His own image. You can only please Him when you conform to His image of righteousness and holiness. God is expecting a present from you. Pray and submit your body to Him, promising Him that you will not say and do anything that can defile your body.
PRAYER: Lord, I promise, that with Your help, I will keep my whole body clean and pure for Your glory.
