The Grateful Heart

God loves a grateful heart,
That rejoices through the pain.
That sings His praise and worships,
Amidst all guilt and shame.

God loves a grateful heart,
That praises through the rage.
That bows down in humility,
And quickly turns the page.

God loves a grateful heart,
That stands amidst the hurt.
Grace replacing all the pride,
And dusting off the dirt.

God loves a grateful heart,
That decides it must endure.
No matter how much it's broken,
It remains strong and pure.

God loves a grateful heart,
That blesses through the curse.
One that turns the other cheek,
For better or for worse.

God loves a grateful heart,
that laughs through all the tears.
It pushes past the sorrow,
And eases all the fears.

God loves a grateful heart,
Though it may not always win.
It will fight through disappointments,
And accepts the scars within.

God loves a grateful heart,
That chooses to forgive.
It will not die through vengeance,
The heart just yearns to live.
