When a man goes in search of himself, he finds lust, greed, and corruption. When a man goes in search of Jesus Christ, he finds himself in the process.
When I was 36, my sister found our natural father online. He left when I was a little over a year old. Before I could reply to her, he messaged me. The whole time, I was questioning God. He had been such a great father to the fatherless to me, I couldn't figure out why I was supposed to meet him that late in my life.
I ended up driving the 400 miles to meet him. I stayed for a few weeks. As I was leaving, we stopped at the grocery store to grab a few things. As he reached in to grab a gallon of milk, he turned to me and said, "John, every man I've ever met is looking for who they are. You are the first man I've met that knows exactly who he is."
I know who I am because I know who He is.
Not everything is about me. I think he needed a little Jesus.
