GOD'S WORD FOR THE DAY

“Greater Than Religion”

Matthew 12:7

“For I desire mercy and not sacrifice.”

This is the Word of God. Matthew 12 reminds us that God is more concerned with a heart of mercy and obedience than with outward religious practices. Jesus challenged the Pharisees because they knew the rules but had forgotten the heart of God.

It is possible to look religious while becoming harsh, judgmental, and unmerciful. True faith is seen not only in what we do for God, but also in how we treat people.

May God give us hearts that value mercy, practice love, and obey Him with sincerity rather than merely following religious routines. Amen.
