September 6, 2026 — When God Says Go
Genesis 12:1–3
**“Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”**

Abram had a life.
He had a home, family, possessions, routines, and a place he knew. Then God spoke two words that would change everything:
“Get thee out.”
God did not hand Abram a map. He did not explain every mile of the journey or describe every difficulty waiting along the road. He simply told Abram to leave—and promised, “I will shew thee.”
That is where Abram’s journey of faith began.
And sometimes, that is where ours begins too.
We often want God to reveal His entire purpose for our lives before we take the first step. Where are You taking me? What will happen when I get there? How will everything work out?
But God may simply say, “Go.”
Perhaps it means beginning something you have been afraid to begin. Perhaps it means leaving behind something comfortable. Perhaps it means serving someone, using a gift you have neglected, changing direction, or taking one small step toward something God has placed upon your heart.
Abram could not see the nation that would come from him. He could not see generations yet unborn. He certainly could not see that through his family would someday come Jesus Christ, bringing blessing and salvation to the world.
He could only see the next step.
But that was enough.
God knew the destination.
As we begin The Journey of Faith, perhaps the first question is not, “God, what is Your entire plan for my life?”
Perhaps it is much simpler:
“God, what are You asking me to do today?”
And when He shows us the first step, may we have the faith to go.
Prayer
Father, I want to discover the purpose You have for my life. Sometimes I want to see the whole road before I begin walking. Teach me to trust You even when I cannot see where the road leads. Show me the step You want me to take today, and give me the faith and courage to take it. When You say, “Go,” help me to answer, “I will.” Amen.
