“But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.” — Matthew 7:26–27 (NKJV)

Jesus warns that simply hearing His words is not enough—His teaching is meant to be lived. The difference between the wise builder and the foolish builder is revealed when the storm comes: one has a foundation, and the other does not. Trials often expose what our lives have actually been built upon. Knowing Scripture without allowing it to shape how we live leaves us standing on unstable ground.
The storm doesn’t create the foundation—it reveals it.
