If we were to describe the heart of God towards us, we could say He demonstrates unconditional love, deep compassion, extreme long-suffering, and the relentless pursuit of a rebellious and sinful people. The way God deals with us is how a loving parent deals with their children. The chastisement is always in love, only for our good, and never with the intention to hurt us or desert us. Jesus Christ was the embodiment of God's love in human form. His sacrificial love, heartfelt compassion, kind rebuke, and strong teachings had people's eternal good at heart.
