Good Sabbath morning. I pray this is indeed a day of rest for you.

“Jesus answered and said to them, ‘This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.’” — John 6:29

The people were asking Jesus what they needed to do to perform the works God required. Jesus redirected their attention away from human achievement and toward faith in Him. Salvation does not begin with our religious accomplishments, good deeds, or ability to make ourselves worthy; it begins by believing in the One the Father sent. Good works have their proper place in the Christian life, but they flow from a life that has first trusted Christ.
Before asking, “What must I do for God?” Jesus brings us to the greater question: “Do you believe in the One God sent?”
