At seventy-five years old, Abram’s life seemed like a closed book. He had no offspring to carry his name, no great achievements to his credit, and no legacy to leave behind. In that ancient world, he was a man simply waiting to die. All hope was gone, and even his natural strength had faded. By every human measure, it was too late.
But God specializes in the impossible. When it seemed over, God stepped in and said, “I will bless you.” And Abram, despite his doubts and his aged body, did the one thing that changed everything: he obeyed.
He departed as the Lord had spoken. He chose to trust the promise of God over the reality of his circumstances. He chose to believe that God’s timing is not bound by our calendars or our limitations.
Years later, the testimony of his life was written down: “And Abraham was old, and well stricken in age: and the Lord had blessed Abraham in all things.” God fulfilled His promise. He blessed him with riches, with children, and with a legacy that would outlast him.
Friend, it is not too late for God.
Your age is not a barrier. Your past failures are not a disqualifier. Your faded strength is not a limitation. The same God who met a seventy-five-year-old man with no hope and turned him into a father of nations is the same God who sees you today.
