Let me embrace the woman God is building and making me, without rejecting the woman He has already made.

Because before I became this woman, I was becoming her.

The woman I am today was once the woman I was praying, hoping, and waiting to become. The growth I now take for granted was once growth I had not yet experienced. The strength I have today was once strength I did not have. The understanding I carry now was once something I had yet to learn.

And yet, somehow, I have kept rejecting the woman I am, constantly waiting for the woman I am becoming.

I have treated the present version of me as though she is merely a draft—as though the real woman is somewhere ahead, waiting for me to finally arrive.

But she is not.

She is becoming, yes. But she is already someone.

God is still building me, but He has already built something in me.

So I want to learn to hold both truths:

I am becoming, and I already am.

I can desire the woman God is still creating without despising the woman He has already made.

I can look forward without looking down on where I am.

I can grow without making my present self my enemy.

I can honor the woman I am becoming while fully embracing the woman I already am.

Because this woman is not an interruption on the way to my life.

She is my life too.
