Sometimes the hardest moments are the tears nobody sees. We cry in the car between appointments, in the bathroom after a hard conversation, or in the darkness before dawn. Some wounds never become announcements. But hidden tears are not forgotten tears. The question is not whether anyone noticed, but whether we believe God did.

David, a distressed and hunted man, penned ๐Ÿ•ฎ Psalm 56 while facing his enemies. In that place of fear and pressure, he wrote, “๐˜›๐˜ฉ๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ ๐˜ต๐˜ฆ๐˜ญ๐˜ญ๐˜ฆ๐˜ด๐˜ต ๐˜ฎ๐˜บ ๐˜ธ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅ๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜จ๐˜ด: ๐˜ฑ๐˜ถ๐˜ต ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ ๐˜ฎ๐˜บ ๐˜ต๐˜ฆ๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ด ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ๐˜ต๐˜ฐ ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜บ ๐˜ฃ๐˜ฐ๐˜ต๐˜ต๐˜ญ๐˜ฆ: ๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ๐˜บ ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฐ๐˜ต ๐˜ช๐˜ฏ ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜บ ๐˜ฃ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฌ?” The word “tellest” carries the idea of counting or keeping account. God does not merely notice our grief; He knows it completely.

Tears are often like a secret language that only heaven fully understands. Others may see a steady face, a normal routine, or a quiet response. But in the hidden places, the heart is breaking. God does not treat those tears as weakness to be ignored. He gathers them, records them, and holds them in His care.

Scripture repeatedly assures us that God sees what others overlook: “๐˜›๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ฆ๐˜บ๐˜ฆ๐˜ด ๐˜ฐ๐˜ง ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ ๐˜“๐˜–๐˜™๐˜‹ ๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ถ๐˜ฑ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ณ๐˜ช๐˜จ๐˜ฉ๐˜ต๐˜ฆ๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ๐˜ด, ๐˜ข๐˜ฏ๐˜ฅ ๐˜ฉ๐˜ช๐˜ด ๐˜ฆ๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ด ๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ ๐˜ฐ๐˜ฑ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฏ ๐˜ถ๐˜ฏ๐˜ต๐˜ฐ ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ๐˜ช๐˜ณ ๐˜ค๐˜ณ๐˜บ” (๐๐ฌ๐š๐ฅ๐ฆ ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’:๐Ÿ๐Ÿ“). He knows our thoughts, searches our hearts, and sees our secret places (๐๐ฌ๐š๐ฅ๐ฆ ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ—:๐Ÿ–๐Ÿ’). Nothing about our suffering escapes His knowledge. We may have tears nobody else remembers, but we have a God who never forgets.

That promise points beyond temporary relief to the day when sin, death, sorrow, and crying will be no more. So we must not pour out sorrow as though hope has run dry. Bring your hidden weeping to the One who knows its full measure. Tears may mark this present age, but they will not write the final chapter.

Before we shed our tears in a closed door, Christ shed His openly. Lazarus' tomb, “๐˜‘๐˜ฆ๐˜ด๐˜ถ๐˜ด ๐˜ธ๐˜ฆ๐˜ฑ๐˜ต” (๐‰๐จ๐ก๐ง ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ:๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ“). He entered our grief, bore our sin, and gave Himself for us. Your tears are not lost—they are held by our Saviour who wept for you and me.

What tears have you cried that nobody else knows about? You don’t need Christ just for the moments when you can hold yourself together; you need Him when the tears come and you have no words left. Will you bring your hidden sorrow to Him today, trusting that not one tear is unseen by the God who saves? Stop weeping as one without hope and rest in His perfect comfort today.

๐๐ซ๐š๐ฒ๐ž๐ซ: Heavenly Father, we confess the tears we have hidden from every eye but Thine. Thank Thee for bottling what the world ignores. Draw us near through Christ, who wept that we might rejoice. Teach us to trust Thy record when all else forgets. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Remember, a dose of God’s Word a day will keep you going all day!
