There is not enough salt in the oceans for the oceans to be many 10s of millions of years old.
The age of the earth’s oceans can be estimated by taking the current total volume of the earth’s oceans times the current salinity of the earth’s oceans and divide that by the current measured rate of salt input minus output. This calculation leads to an estimated age for the oceans far less than 60 million years. This calculation gave the most generous rates for evolutionary deep time. Obviously, this is far less than the billions of years from the deep time evolutionary model.
But why is this estimate still high for the about 6000-year young earth creationist model? One reason is that during the worldwide flood and its aftermath, there would have been a period of very high input rate of salt into the oceans. Thus, it is consistent with the 6000-year young earth creationist model. This estimate also does not include any salt that would have been there at the time the oceans were created. This too would lower the age of the oceans toward the about 6000-year age given by the Biblical creation model.
So according to the long age model of evolution, the oceans are about 3.8 billion years old which is about 60-200x the age estimated from salt input and output rates. In fact, in the old earth model, the oceans would have eons ago become too salty and anything to have survived in the oceans. The input and output rates of global accumulation of salt in the ocean is in general well understood. And remember, generous values for both for the old earth case were used in the estimates. So, there is no way that the estimated rate could be off by 60-250x in the age of the earth calculation. Therefore, this cannot be disregarded. This is a global clock and disproves evolution and billions of years.

Almost all dating techniques of the age of the earth show a recent creation. Those that do not can be shown to be erroneous. This is proved in this post.

And the rate of accumulation of DNA mutations errors, especially in mitochondrial DNA, of all individual creatures of all species, proves that all species, the oceans, the earth and everything in it are less than 10,000 years old. This is proved in this post.

In summary, this is real evidence, along with all the other multitudes of other real evidence, that refutes evolution and billions of years forever. Trying to discard this fact is illogical and unscientific. Here is an example of why.
Suppose an evolutionist proposes a theory that the sum of any 2 numbers is 10. Now an infinite number of pairs of numbers match the theory.
2+8, pi + 10 - pi, 22/7 + 10 - 22/7 all match the theory.
Yet just one counterexample proves the theory false forever. In this case for each pair of numbers that match the theory, an infinite number of pairs of numbers prove it false forever. And only one is needed as a counterexample to refute this theory. For example, 50+50=100.
In the case of evolution and billions of years, there is no evidence that matches the theory but multitudes of evidence that refute these conjectures. For a theory to be plausibly true, it needs to be falsifiable. Well evolution and billions of years have been falsified by all the evidence. So, it is falsified forever. Holding onto it, is thus illogical and unscientific.
