JESUS DESTROYS THE SYSTEM When you read Daniel and Revelation, it can be easy to become consumed by the beasts, the kingdoms, the horns, the persecution, and the darkness described in the prophecies. But there is something we should never lose sight of: The story does not end with darkness. It ends with Jesus. Daniel saw kingdoms rise in power. He saw a terrifying fourth beast, ten horns, and a ruler who would speak against the Most High and wage war against His people. Revelation later gives us another picture of a beast exercising authority over the nations. But Scripture never presents these powers as being greater than God. Their authority is temporary. Their reign has an expiration date. And their judgment is certain. Revelation 19 brings us to the moment everything changes. John says: “I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True.” — Revelation 19:11 This isn’t another earthly ruler arriving on the scene. This is Jesus Christ. The King returns. John sees the beast and the kings of the earth gathering their armies together to make war against Christ and His army: “I saw the beast and the kings of the earth with their armies gathered to make war against him who was sitting on the horse and against his army.” — Revelation 19:19 Imagine the arrogance of that moment. The kingdoms of the earth gather together against the King of Kings. They have power. They have armies. They have authority. They have united themselves against Him. But they have made one fatal mistake. They are standing against Jesus. And they don’t win. John tells us: “And the beast was captured…” — Revelation 19:20 The system that appeared so powerful is brought down. The ruler who appeared unstoppable is judged. The kingdoms that appeared to control the world discover that they never truly had the final authority. Because Jesus does. This is exactly what Daniel saw centuries earlier. Daniel watched the kingdoms of the earth rise and fall, but then his vision shifted away from the beasts. He saw the Ancient of Days. And he saw “one like a son of man” coming with the clouds of heaven. To Him was given: “Dominion and glory and a kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him.” — Daniel 7:14 And notice what Daniel says about His kingdom: “His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom one that shall not be destroyed.” That’s the part I want you to remember. The kingdoms of this world are temporary. Christ’s kingdom is eternal. The beast has an ending. Jesus has no ending. Human governments rise and fall. Jesus reigns forever. And Revelation doesn’t stop at the destruction of the beast. Scripture continues toward the restoration of all things—the new heaven and the new earth, where God dwells with His people. “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people.” — Revelation 21:3 So when you study prophecy, don’t become so focused on identifying the beast that you forget to know the Lamb. Don’t become so fascinated by the darkness that you forget Who is the Light. Don’t spend so much time watching the kingdoms of this world that you forget the King who is coming. Jesus warned us to stay awake. He warned us not to be deceived. He told us to endure. And at the very end of Scripture, Jesus gives us His promise: “Surely I am coming soon.” — Revelation 22:20 The question isn’t whether Jesus will ultimately defeat evil. He will. The question is whether you are ready to meet Him. So keep your eyes on Jesus. Repent. Believe the Gospel. Follow Him. Stand firm in the truth. And don’t let the darkness of the world make you forget that the King is coming. Jesus Christ has the final word. And His kingdom will never end. GRACE SENT Pointing hearts to Jesus.👉🏻❤️👑
