Whether one is in pain or unaffected, two aspects part of a whole picture. We need the full view of God that we would know his will in respect of both unto the whole. God would have us relate with empathy, and compassion among the brotherhood, but the world. What have I? Gospel spreading grace. Yet is my heart conditioned for both? No matter if you are in pain or unaffected, on one side or the other: for I am not perfect, but he is perfect. Perfection came from him.

That we would have spiritual depth with God recognizing our great need for the God of Patience and Consolation. Perceiving the need for grace and the riches of his glory with greater depth of spiritual maturity.

So how can I, if I am hurt or/and in pain not reach out to God for me and for others.

The lesser as you are conforming to his image to be one with him, the greater.

So how can I, if I am unaffected consider only myself and not consider others.

That I would consider Abraham's view (being obedient, a true worshipper, one counted righteous) view (compassionate) toward Sodom (a wicked nation, soon facing judgement): The abundance of the heart of Abraham was revealed speaking to the Lord, that he would spare the nation. If the Lord found what he approved of: the righteous in number. Whether there be fifty, alway to ten. Who being of a lowly mind in communion with the Lord, considered himself but dust and ashes in truth of Genesis 3 being truly dust. Then he asked the Lord that he not be angry. The Lord went on knowing there was but one man in Sodom, a believer his nephew Lot. The Lord knew this, Abraham having heavenly hope knew it not.
