The corruption that defiled the world through lust is still evident today, It defiled generations and the whole humanity at large. Do you remember the fall that occurred in Eden? That was the corruption that hindered the whole world from manifesting the excellency of God. It robbed man of God's image which is excellence personified, spiritually, financially, socially and in other areas of life. Most importantly, man found it impossible to manifest excellence in his spiritual relationship with God and, as a result, he could not manifest in other areas also.
God, however, promised the coming of His Spirit in the book of Joel as seen in our Fire Scripture for today. The spirit of excellence is the perfection of God's excellence to help man walk perfectly in his spiritual relationship with Him. As a result, other areas of the life of man will grow into perfection. Notice that the men who manifested excellence in scriptures were men who first had a right standing with God and, as a result, they had proofs to show for it in other areas of their lives that men of God are men of gold. Daniel prayed three times daily; Joseph had reverence and the fear for God while Moses also had an intimate relationship with God. God wants you and me to be excellent in all areas of our lives, but first in our relationship with Him and others will fall in place automatically.
Jesus saw a need for the presence of the Holy Spirit at the beginning of His ministry as a criterion for Him to manifest excellence of purpose. John bore witness to this. He said he saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove on Jesus. The Spirit did not just descend; He abode upon Jesus. With reference to scriptures, every time the Spirit descends, the heaven opens. The Spirit does not descend until the heaven is opened. Open heaven, however, is the outpouring of the excellency of God. You need an open heaven now. Why? It is because no man ever goes far in life or manifests excellence under a closed heaven. I demystify every dark cloud around you by the blood of Jesus! Every closed heaven that has chased favour and blessings away from you, I unlock it by the blood of Jesus!
