Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.
I pray that your Thanksgiving gatherings were peaceful and full of love. Even if it meant that there were no huge gatherings, just you and our Father. My husband and I enjoyed such a day. Together with just the dog, enjoying mind numbing television and each other.
Every winter we get to see cute little field mice come into our home and enjoy the warmth and love. It is part of the joy of where we have chosen to live. Each year we feed them and give them a place to sleep. I found it odd, when fall had hit and I had not seen any, however it sounded like a gaggle of squirrels had found an obstacle course in our walls every night when I went to bed. Then one day, while I was making coffee, two fairly chunky field mice came from behind my refrigerator to play tag, then return to behind into the wall. A few days later while watching television, another quite chunky one came out of my bedroom to see if they approved of the show. Because they are such esteemed guests, I not only have provided the customary cheese and peanut butter snacks, but I have now ventured into specialized cuisine. I have always steered away from the cuisine, however, this year the very resourceful lodgers seem to have stepped up their game and requirements for acceptable accommodation. (English non-story like version…mice are not eating the bait on the traps or are tripping the traps without getting caught, have moved to poison blocks.)
This is how it is when we are walking with Christ. Minions or demons or evil spirits that annoy us, trip us, confuse us, come at us in familiar ways until such time those ways no longer work and then they change up their game. Just as the field mice changed up their game in my home, the spirits changed up their game in getting to us. In the same manner, we must change our game of protection. For many years, I just listened to music to and from work to keep my sanity … and it worked … until it didn’t. Then I would read sporadically or listen to pod casts. Those items did not last very long. However, now…now 9 times out of 10 trips in the car to work I am listening to the Word. I know that seems like a no brainer, but I am no different, I seem to think I already know what I need to battle off the attacks. However, my traditional methods have come to an end of consistent success and now I must improve my game and go for the expensive cuisine. Though it is free, it was a huge price for it to be free. That is why it is so successful.
Today I am thankful for the Word of God and his protection. I am thankful that He sent his Son to die for my sins before I was even a twinkle in not even born yet star. I am thankful that I live in country where it is accessible and available. I am thankful that I am aware of the old ways of not working and have grown into a willing heart to go back to the basics and learn from the One who loves me most. Jesus.
If you have not found your niche in Word, I pray that you will be struck with an amazing understanding of Love and feel the urge to know Him more. In the listening of the gospels, I learn something new each time I listen.
Be blessed today my friends.
***I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. – John 5:24
