Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.

Today is my family’s Thanksgiving dinner at my daughter’s house. I tease her about hosting because she is a hermit type and hosting parties, such as family gatherings, is not her thing. I had to reassure her that there was no inheritance so if this were a plot to give me a heart attack then all she would inherit was bills. Haha. She assured me that killing me off was not the goal, only to try something new. God really does know how to make me take a double take.

Yesterday while listening to Matthew, they talked about the virgins with lamps of oil. How some brought extra while others only what was in their lamp. Then when bridegroom came the ones who did not prepare were left behind. (Seriously shortened version.) It made me start thinking. A dangerous endeavor for sure, but a reality non the less.

As that story was playing out in my ears, a scene from God’s Not Dead (the first one) flashed. The scene of the professor who was on his way to the concert to talk to his girlfriend and was hit by a car…fatally; but was given one last chance to confess and believe.

A little later in the parables I heard the story of the manager who hired several men to work the vineyards at various times of the day for the same wage. Then in the end those who worked longest were upset that they earned the same as those who worked the least. (Again, seriously shortened version.)

In both of these scenarios, ‘today’ flashed before my eyes. Not today as in (TODAY) but today as in today’s society. How badly the enemy has infiltrated the minds and hearts of good people. How twisted he has perverted the truth. How many souls will be lost because of him? It really saddens me.

Many times I have spoken about ‘we are the only bible’ that many will ever see and read. It is so very important that we, as true believers in Christ, show the real Him, in our words and our actions. There are many who claim the title of Christian, who still believe that they can do what they want, when they want, however they want. That (Christian) is not Christian at all. They are deceived and will not like the outcome. True believers “feel” instant conviction from the Holy Spirit when we fail to show real Christlike behavior. True believers, go to God in prayer and ask for forgiveness. True believers work diligently to not make the same mistake and listen for His voice.

Believe me when I say that I have days when I wonder if I am a true believer, because I look at my actions and know that I am wrong. However, when I hear his voice reminding me that I am His child, my heart and soul are put at ease.

I am not an End Times person. I know that it is coming. I know that we are in a part of it. As far as the WHEN…I have no idea and am not looking. What I do know is that I am not going to be like virgins with not enough oil in their lamps nor am I going to be like first hired. I am going to be thankful that I am chosen.

Today, as I prepare to go to my daughter’s house for fellowship and a big meal, I am thankful for the insights that God has given over the last month specifically of what to be thankful for. Each and every part of this month has been a blessing. He even solidified it yesterday with a new friend.

I encourage you today to reflect only on the month of November. Ponder over each day and night. Think about situations that were awesome, then things that were not so awesome, then things that were downright horrible. After you have given serious consideration for all, remember that you are still here, and He is with you.

Be blessed today my friends.
