*THE KEY TO KNOWLEDGE*

Luke 11:52 (KJV)...... *Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.*

It is possible to read this verse of scripture and not understand what our Lord Jesus is saying to the Pharisees here. The phrase as used by him was not properly rendered in the King James: “For ye have taken away the key of knowledge.” When we read it in the Amplified translation, it gives a better meaning to it. “For ye have taken away THE KEY to knowledge.”.

You may ask, but what is the difference? The difference is in that word “OF’ as used by the King James Version and “TO” as used by the Amplified. In the Bible, the word “key” symbolically means power and authority. So, when you read it in the King James version, it means that the lawyers took from the people the power of knowledge, but instead of “THE POWER TO KNOWLEDGE.”.

It means that they denied the people the power and the authority to access knowledge because they know that knowledge is power, and once the people are armed with it, they will know the truth.

Don’t deny people the power and authority to access knowledge. In fact, show them how to access knowledge, and they will forever be indebted to you because knowledge makes life beautiful. Hallelujah.

Prayer:
Oh, I am grateful for your word. You have through it opened me up and showed me how to live the good life. Thank you father for the access to knowledge it has given me today. Amen.

Bible Reference: Psalm 119:1-30.

Wisdom Capsule:
