Luke 18:1-8 RSV Nelson 1952 And he told them a parable, to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart.

He said, "In a certain city there was a judge who neither feared God nor regarded man;

and there was a widow in that city who kept coming to him and saying, 'Vindicate me against my adversary.'

For a while he refused; but afterward he said to himself, 'Though I neither fear God nor regard man,

yet because this widow bothers me, I will vindicate her, or she will wear me out by her continual coming.'"

And the Lord said, "Hear what the unrighteous judge says.

And will not God vindicate his elect, who cry to him day and night? Will he delay long over them?

I tell you, he will vindicate them speedily, Nevertheless, when the Son of man comes, will he find faith on earth?"

Revelation 6:9-11 When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the witness they had borne;

they cried out with a loud voice, "O Sovereign Lord, holy and true, how long before thou wilt judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell upon the earth?"

Then they were each given a white robe and told to rest a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and their brethren should be complete, who were to be killed as they themselves had been.

Hebrews 10:35-39 Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.

For you have need of endurance, so that you may do the will of God and receive what is promised.

"For yet a little while, and the coming one shall come and shall not tarry;

but my righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him."

But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and keep their souls.

Luke 18:35-43 As he drew near to Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging;

and hearing a multitude going by, he inquired what this meant.

They told him, "Jesus of Nazareth is passing by, "

And he cried, '"Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!?

And those who were in front rebuked him, telling him to be silent, but he cried out all the more, "Sof David, have mercy on me!"

And Jesus stopped, and commanded him to be bought to him; and when he came near, he asked him,

"What do you want me to do for you?" He said, "Lord, let me receive my sight."

And Jesus said to him, "Receive your sight, your faith has made you well."

And immediately, he received his sight and followed him, glorifying God; and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God.
