Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.
Years ago, when I started in the office that I am in now, there was a gentleman clerk who was a solid Christian. At least to me. Now I am not saying that he did not have his faults, we all do, but I admired how he presented himself. Not haughty, but upright.
I cannot remember the time of year that was, it could very well have been Christmas time, but I walked in and on the counter was a large book. The book was blue and intriguing. The title was Sparkling Gems. I assumed it was his and left it alone … at least for a little while. Soon my curiosity got the best of me, and I started flipping through the pages … when he was not around. Afterall, it is rude to look through other people’s belongings.
At some point during the day, he told me that the book was mine. It was a gift. No one had ever just given me a gift like this. I was floored. Inside the book was a sticker, still with its backing on it, with the following, “Happy Tuesday” and an inscription that was a remembrance of personal interaction of Christ’s love.
Just thinking about it makes me smile. Both the reference to the inscription and the book.
When I was assigned to the office I am in now, I was nervous to come here. All the normal prenuptial butterflies. Now, fifteen years later and the bulk of my carrier, I look back and see that God was giving me a home. A home away from my home.
Sometimes in our journey we cannot see promise land for the bushes or mountains in our line of sight. Just because you cannot see what He is lining up for you, does not mean that he is not lining something up that is magnificent.
It is difficult, especially when the waters are so muddy that you can barely tell that it is water, but when you look past the murky butterflies, you can see the home.
I am absolutely blessed beyond measure to work in the office that I work in. The customers are beyond wonderful. The employees are just different variations of me. I am truly blessed.
Today as you go through your day, reflect on your path and how many murky ponds you have had to tread through. Look at where you are now, how you got there, and the Victory that has been accomplished.
I could not be here today without the people that He has placed in my life. Both in my personal life and my professional life. Even on the darkest of days, He always appeared to let me know that he was there. In one of those times was when I started in my office now.
Be blessed today my friends.
***My eyes will be on the faithful in the land, that they may dwell with me; he whose walk is blameless will minister to me. – Psalm 101:6
