To us a child is born, to us a son is given … And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6
Thought Of The Day...
Jesus, existed long before he was born on this earth. As God, he does not have a beginning; he is the source of all things.
Before the world existed, he lived in eternal glory and had perfect communion with the Father and the Holy Spirit. He was the Word that was with God in the beginning (John
1:1-2). He was coequal, coeternal, and consubstantial with God.
He was not created; he is one with the Creator. “Through him all things were made,” and nothing that was made was made without him (John 1:3).
The universe was in God’s mind before the foundations of the earth were laid. The starry worlds were created by him. He measured the waters of the seas in the hollow of his hand and weighed the dust of the earth on his precision scale. He called by name each and every one of the stars in the heavens, and none of them is lacking in splendor. He brought into existence the things that did not exist and created everything from nothing, for his glory and our enjoyment.
As our provider and protector, the Son born to us is called Everlasting Father; he loves us and came to save us!
Prayer...
Heavenly Father, As I come before you today, I am reminded of the powerful words in Isaiah 9:6. You have blessed us with your Son, Jesus Christ, who is our Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, and Everlasting Father. I am filled with awe and gratitude for the security and peace that He brings into our lives.
In a world that is filled with chaos and uncertainty, Jesus is our solid rock. He brings us peace that is not temporary, but everlasting. His love knows no boundaries and His grace knows no end. He came to calm the storms that rage within us and to guide us through the challenges of life.
I thank you, Lord, for sending your Son to us. Through Him, we have hope, strength, and courage to face any obstacles that come our way. I pray that we may always remember the true meaning of Christmas, and to celebrate the birth of Jesus with grateful hearts.
Jesus came not just to end the wars around us, but to calm the chaos within us. He is the Wonderful Counselor when life hurts us, the Mighty God when we feel powerless, the Everlasting Father when we feel alone. And His peace? It's not fleeting. It's a peace without end.
Thank you, Lord, for being our Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, and Everlasting Father. May we always find peace in your presence.
May we never forget the sacrifice that Jesus made for us, and may we always honor and glorify His name. In Jesus' name, I pray Amen.
