Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.

Last night I had a ‘wonderful’ idea. An idea that caused me to get less than quality sleep. There is an odor in my bedroom that I cannot find. I am sure it is a little rodent whom I wanted evicted coming back to haunt me. However, I thought that I would use my Scentsy warmer to kill off the smell so I could sleep better. The problem with my thought is that my warmer is quite bright. When in a dark room you can definitely find your way around with no problem. I did get to sleep okay and stayed asleep all night; however it was not the good quality rem sleep I have been spoiled by.

The whole time I am moving the warmer from one room to the other, I am telling myself that I need to make sure to shut it off when I go to bed. During prayers and thanksgiving, I am telling myself to shut it off. Snuggling into bed and adjusting the blankets to create a wall from the light, I am telling myself to shut it off. At no point did I shut it off. Because I made the choice to ignore the voice of reason, my rem sleep was not completely accomplished.

Now the smell and the warmer are not the only reason I am tired this morning. I opted to stay up later than normal because I was not tired yet. I was tired, but my mind was engaged in the show we were watching, and I wanted to see how it ended.

Throughout the evening, several thoughts and ideas flooded my mind. We are getting the littles this weekend. Our son called and is in an adult moment of trial. The weather is changing again. Our sons across the pond are in their own ‘season’ of change and challenge. Some one once said that the best part of being a parent is watching your kids grow up and that the hardest part of being a parent is watching your kids grow up.

As I make choices, I envision God watching me with excitement and joy of my accomplishments. I also envision Him weeping with me when I cry. I never worry that I will not need Him, because that will never happen. But I do know that each day I become stronger in Him. Just as we raised our kids to exceed our accomplishments of growth and hover when they fall, God beams with heavenly glory as we grow into the person he made us to be. We can never be more than God; however, we can be more with God.

Our son called us for reassuring support while in this adult crises. We stayed on the phone until we had a root cause for this issue discovered. At the end, though not fixed, our son was settled with the knowledge that we are always going to be here for him while we are here. The best part about having Father like God, is that he never goes away. He is always there. He never leaves. .

Sometimes it ‘feels’ like he has cast us away, but that is the enemy putting his two cents worth into the conversation. Sometimes we need to be isolated so that we can ‘hear’ His voice. He has not left; he is just waiting for the noise to settle so that we can hear his small still voice. He is there…I promise.

Be blessed today my friends.
