Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.
This morning, though my day off, I have gotten up at my regular time (oh dark thirty). We are off to our son’s today to help him with a few projects and then we will drive home tonight. You might think why do I need to be up so early for that, well … he lives three hours away and the projects are kind of deep. So the earlier we get there, the better. Normally we would just get a room and stay overnight, but that will not be the case today.
When we were making these plans, I originally said that I would get up and get awake a little earlier, but my body decided differently. I also alluded to maybe not posting first thing in the morning so that we could get out of our house faster, however as the day (yesterday) proceeded, that thought really did not set right with me. I was putting my wishes before God’s. God only wants to spend time with us, and I have been diligent in keeping to this routine, but for the sake of a half hour or an hour, I was willing to push him to the backseat.
How often do we do this? Push Him back so that we can make time for the ‘things’ that we want or want to do. Unfortunately, for me, it is far too often.
Today’s message is really quite short. Who is really first in your life? If you said anyone but the Father, you might want to re-think that choice.
He chose you. He gave you life. He is always with you (even when you are not with him). He loves you (even when you don’t love him).
When He is first, life runs so much easier. Something to think about today.
Be blessed my friends.
***Blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are ever praising you. Blessed are those whose strength is in you, who have set their hearts on pilgrimage. –Psalm 84:4-5
