Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.
Yesterday I was late, today I am early. It appears that last few days of this year may be just as wild as the rest of the year. As though the timeliness of my posts are not wild and sporadic enough, the wood stove decided it wanted to be the center of attention at bedtime last night and filled the house with smoke. My husband shut it down and aired the house out as well as he could, but the flavor of the day is still smokey. To add to my wild, and the reason I am so early is that I get the honor of pulling another very long shift today. Consequently, I am up an hour earlier. I did try to take into account the earlier rise time, however, the enemy wanted to distract my sleep focus to smoke focus. I am betting that today is going to either be eventfully busy or, because it is me and we have to be different, uneventfully slow. To be honest, I would rather, if all I have to choose from is the two options, it be extremely busy … that way the time flies by and I feel as though I just pulled a very long shift. Whatever it is … it will be. Whatever it is … I am blessed to have this opportunity.
With the year winding down, I am going to purposefully and distinctly direct my thoughts to my blessings of this year. I am going to take time each day to reflect on only the Lighted moments. Only blessings will be in my thoughts. You may ask how can I not remember the ugly moments, it is easy … the ugly moments are blessings also … so I won’t be ignoring them but embracing them as well. I will just look upon them for what my lesson in them was and how I have grown. The uglies are not all UGLY, but an opportunity to ‘see’ the Light that is guiding us through the ugly. When you focus on the Light, the ugly does not hinder you. When you focus on the Light, the ugly is bearable. It won’t be fun, but you will know you are going to survive.
Join me today and seeking out the blessings of this year. Look for His Light in the ugly times and count the blessings. You will be amazed.
Be blessed today my friends.
***How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them. Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand. . When I awake, I am still with you. – Psalm 139:17-18
