Psalm 69:10 (AMPC)..... *When I wept and humbled myself with fasting, I was jeered at and humiliated;*
Another vital reason we fast is that fasting is a means of humbling ourselves before the Lord. Man is arrogant; man is full of pride; man is full of himself. Man that is born of a woman is full of ego and the foolish thought that he doesn’t need God.
There is nothing good about the flesh. After the fall of man, the order changed from spirit, soul, and body to soul, body, and spirit or body, soul, and spirit. The spirit of man became relegated to the back and was never considered in any matter.
So, fasting became the easiest way to humble the flesh. You deprive the flesh that strength to carry out all it wants to do. So, stay humble by fasting.
Prayer:
Loving father, I thank you for your word. I know you are a good God, and all you do and think towards me is nothing but good and not evil. I subscribe to this your technology in humbling my flesh today. Help me Lord in Jesus name. Amen.
