*WHY WE FAST (PART 3)* .

Acts 13:1-2 (KJV)..... *Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.*

[2] *As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.*

From this our theme scripture, we see that the early church had a means of getting answers from the Lord when they had matters before them. They employ the technology of fasting in getting answers from the Lord and also to get directions.

This means that fasting is one way through which we hear the Lord and which we hear from the Lord. It is not that the Lord is not speaking to us, but because we dwell in the flesh and have many distractions, it makes it difficult for us to hear from the Lord. But when we engage in fasting and prayers, it helps us clean up any dirt and remove those roadblocks that stop us from hearing from the Lord.

I want to believe you are fasting now. I urge you to stay focused and pray in the Spirit for at least one hour and watch what will happen to your spirit and how you will pick information from the Lord concerning the new year.
