How do you handle life's challenges? In Job 14:14, the Bible says, "Man that is born of a woman is of few days and full of trouble." Job had more than a fair share of life's trouble. So he was in a position to make this comment. The vicissitudes of life have no respect for gender, societal class or geographical location. There are periods of difficulty, dark hours, challenging times, seasons of trial and the time of Jacob's trouble in the life of every man. Your attitude towards life's challenges will determine how far you go with God and in life. It could also determine where you spend your eternity. It is as serious as that.
Zerubbabel was the Governor of Judah during the time of Prophet Zechariah. He began to build a tabernacle and got stuck along the line. The project was discontinued because of demonic attack and the enemy's influence, which Zerubbabel could not tackle on his own, but God intervened and sent him word of prophecy (Zechariah 4:1-9).
Who art thou, O great mountain? God who sees and knows all things described the mountain as "great". The challenge and opposition confronting Zerubbabel was formidable. Yet God spoke that the great mountain would become a plain ground. Why did God intervene and deal with the great problem Zerubbabel was grappling with? Why was God concerned and reached out to help him? First, I believe that Zerubbabel must have been in God's will and committed to God's project. His inability to progress with the work was not his making; it was the enemy's interruption. Two, though Zerrubabel had this setback, he probably did not give up hope or get discouraged.
Beloved, note that whenever the enemy places great mountains (obstacles) in your way, or when tries to stop your project, his intention is to discourage and frustrate you. He knows that the work will bring glory to God. Don't give up; don't be discouraged. Turn to God in prayer and heaven will roll the mountain before you away. God specifically decreed that the hand of Zerubbabel that began the work will finish it. Fasting, prayer and praise still move mountains! I command every mountain that the enemy has planted in your health, career, ministry, family and finance to become plain ground now, in Jesus' name.
