Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.
HAPPY NEW YEAR.
They say whatever you do on the first day of the year sets the path for the rest of the year. My goal for today is to find my house, it is kinda lost, read from two exceptional devotions books (which I have done), and even though it is quite brisk outside…go for at least a mile walk.
It is nearing 9:00 am, so obviously I slept in this morning and I read because I am a slow reader, and I even took notes today. Quick side note: if you have a desire to be spiritually moved and motivated, I highly recommend Sparkling Gems 1 and 2.
Today is the first day of a new year. Everything that happened last year is gone. Nothing you do today will change what happened … when you dwell on those things that you cannot change, you open a door for the enemy to slither his slimy behind into your armor and toy with you. When he toys with you, he makes it sound so logical that it must be a word from the Holy Spirit, however, that nagging gut feeling is the Holy Spirit telling you He is not the one giving you those thoughts.
This year my goal is to be a better me. I am going to do that by reading these Gem devotions every day, listening to the bible every day, praying every day, eating better every day, walking every day (even if only a short distance). My goal this year is to have an accountability partner who will also be reading the same devotions, and we can discuss the lesson and dive deep into it. My goal this year most of all….to not look back at what I failed to do, but to look forward to what God will direct me to do. By the end of this year, my goal is to be a better me.
Remember that today is the beginning of a new adventure; an adventure of peace, an adventure of understanding, an adventure of spreading God’s love … even when we are unsure. Join me.
Be blessed today my friends.
***I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you. – Psalm 119:10-11
