Yesterday, I mentioned that the best way to start the year is to start it with God. I also stressed that you must continue with God during the year and end the year in His loving and caring arms. When you make God the Alpha and Omega in your life's journey, your victory and success will be guaranteed. Today, I would like to note that some people start their year the wrong way and this has negative effects on how the year turns out to be for them.

Beloved, do not start the year without seeking God's guidance and direction. Our memory verse for today underscores this point. This is a great counsel you should heed this year. Also, do not start the year without a clear plan or goal. The Bible says that without a vision, the people perish (Proverbs 29:18). Without a clear sense of direction, people are likely to wander aimlessly, lack focus and fail in their endeavors. Lastly, do not start the year without reflecting on the past year's lessons and experiences. Do not let the failure or success of the past hold you down or make you complacent. Learn from the past and move on to achieve a more glorious future.

When you begin the year with God, you will be able to do the following: (1) Seek His guidance and direction for the year (2) Align your goals and plans with God's will and purpose (3) Experience God's peace and wisdom in the midst of uncertainty (4) Receive spiritual refreshing and renewal (5) Strengthen your faith and trust in God (6) Gain clarity and purpose for the year (7) Experience God's presence and guidance in every area of life (8) Find comfort and hope in God's promises and love (9) Develop a deeper intimacy with God (10) Set a godly foundation for the year, leading to a more fulfilling and purpose-driven life.

By starting the year with God, you invite Him to lead and guide you, and you can open yourself up to receive His blessings and guidance throughout the year.
