Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.

My pastor gave us the Gospel’s Challenge back in August. The idea was to read the gospels as many times as we could before the first of the year. As I have said before, I took on the challenge for the wrong reason. I wanted to be the one who got through them the fastest and the most. However, after listening to them all for the first time, I was convicted by the Holy Spirit that I really needed to listen to them, digest them, and use them to protect my spirit. Since being reprimanded more or less by the Holy Spirit for my motive, I was able to complete the assignment with eleven full rounds of the gospels and two rounds of Corinthians with a single round of the New Testament (minus Revelations … I want a pen and paper when I listen to that book).

While listening to Word, I used the characters of The Chosen to put a face to the Message. I imagined some of the stories being a new episode or wondered if I had missed an episode where this or that story was played out. Even as I proceeded through the rest of the New Testament, I imagined those characters playing out their journey. Using those tools really helped bring to life the Life that was on those pages.

Prior to my going to bed last night, I found the gift that I received from my team’s Christmas gathering. One of the gifts was a box of prayer cards. In my journey to become a better me, I am going to use these cards to help with my prayer journey. I want to share the first one with you. It is a great start to a new me.

“Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters.” Romans 14:1

To me, this is a powerful way to start the new year. There are plenty of people who do not believe as I do. There are plenty of people who believe as I do, but struggle. There are plenty of people who believe as do and doing as I do…one day at a time. I must see the difference, accept the difference, embrace the difference in love, and be willing to pray over the difference for the good of the Kingdom.

Which do you think would better for our mental state: dying on a hill being right but the Kingdom loses a soul … or dying on a hill of prayer to advance the Kingdom of God and remove yet another soul from the enemy’s snare? This year…I choose the latter.

Be blessed today my friends.

***Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. – Philippians 4:6
