Thankful for Your Seat

"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." - Ephesians 2:8-9

I want you to understand something: You didn’t earn an invitation to God’s table, nor do you have the means to repay the host. It’s purely a gift, extended out of love. That’s what God has done for you through Jesus Christ.

The truth is none of us deserve a seat at God’s table. Our sin separates us from Him, making us unworthy of His presence. But through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross, we’ve been made worthy. Jesus bore the weight of our sins, endured the punishment we deserved, and conquered death so that we could be reconciled to God. His act of love ensures that, no matter who we are or where we come from, we are invited to the feast.

It’s easy to take this gift for granted, especially in the busyness of life. We can become so focused on what we lack or the challenges we face that we forget to thank God for what He has already given us: eternal life, forgiveness, and a place in His kingdom. Gratitude changes everything. When you remember that your seat at the table is a result of grace, it shifts your perspective. Instead of striving to earn God’s favor, you can live in freedom, knowing it’s already yours through Christ.

Let this reality sink in: God chose you. Despite your flaws and failures, He extended His hand and made a way for you to be with Him forever. This isn’t just a future promise; it’s a present reality. Every day, you have the opportunity to walk in the assurance of His love and the hope of His kingdom.

Take time today to thank God for your seat at the table. Reflect on the depth of His love and the sacrifice He made for you. Let gratitude lead you to live a life that honors Him, sharing the good news with others and celebrating the incredible gift of grace.
