Sharing Your Story

From Attalia they sailed back to Antioch, where they had been committed to the grace of God for the work they had now completed. On arriving there, they gathered the church together and reported all that God had done through them and how he had opened a door of faith to the Gentiles. – Acts 14:26-27

I firmly believe that every believer needs to be in the habit of sharing how God is working in their life. The Bible tells us that Paul and Barnabas went back home to Antioch to share what God had done through their ministry. The Greek word here really means to be a messenger, to be reporting. They gathered the church together as believers (not a building), and they shared what God was doing among the Gentiles. They shared all that God had orchestrated through them. They shared verbally what God had done.

In the same way, we need to be sharing what God is doing in our lives. If you have a story, you need to share it. You never know how God wants to use your story to impact and influence others.

Do you have a story of healing? Share it with those who are hurting.
Do you have a story of hope? Share it with those who are hopeless.
Do you have a story of deliverance? Share it with those who are stuck.
Do you have a story of provision? Share it with those who are in need.
Do you have a story of redemption? Share it with those who are lost.
Do you have a story of victory? Share it with those who are discouraged.

Revelation 12:11 tells us that we conquer the enemy by the blood of the Lamb (Jesus) and the word of our testimony. We claim the victory that is rightfully ours in Christ Jesus when we share our stories and our testimonies with others. When we have the boldness to talk to others about what God has done and is doing in our lives, powerful things happen.
