Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.
One of the biggest memories of any parent is the absolute toy that will bring the biggest smile to your child. You have managed to put together the money to make that dream come true. The smile on their face will light the room when they come into the room, porch, yard…whichever, and there it sets. You are enamored in the thought that you do not realize that the three most horrific words ever put together are on the toy … “Some Assembly Required”
However, not to be persuaded or caught in a loom of fear, because after all, God did not give us a spirit of fear, we can do this. How hard can it be? The picture on the box lures you into a false sense of security and you take it home. Covering your bases, you get five different types of batters (because most everything in the free world requires batteries) and you bought a small tool set to make sure that you had everything at the ready. Confident as we walk out of the store… “they are going to be so happy” … is the only thought in your mind.
Opening the box with bravery and confidence, setting the box up so the picture is clearly visible for reference (as you do with ANY puzzle), you dump out all the bagged pieces and think, “Good grief, what have I done?” Again, not fearful, you begin to organize your new puzzle pieces and start the assembly, solely by visual assist by the pretty picture on the box. The toy is assembled, it looks like the box, and you are proud of yourself…but…it doesn’t do this, or it don’t do that, and it is supposed to. And there is a small pile of parts of the puzzle not used, that you discarded as spare pieces.
You have now been at this assembly project for hours, but it does not work correctly. Your child is due home soon and the grand surprise is broken. After some tears, choice words and aggravation, you make the choice to look at the instruction booklet. In there you find that the (spare pieces) are necessary for the item to function properly. With a few modifications, the big surprise is now fully functional. Your child comes in and their smile lights up the house.
All of our issues in life can be resolved if we just open the owner’s manual and search for the answer. The owner’s manual … is the Word of God. The unfortunate part is that we treat the bible as a google prompt where we type in a specific problem and expect it to give a specific answer. When it does not say, “Karalee I want you to do ….” Then we do it on our own. Or if it does not say, “Karalee the answer is ….” Then we decide that our way must be the right way. Even though our way has not worked in the past … ever.
Folks, we have the ultimate instruction manual for life. There are a multitude of examples and experiences from which to gain knowledge. The only thing that we need to do … is embrace it and believe. That is it. When we do that, when we allow faith to guide us, when we surrender our will to His, the universe aligns, and the rainbow of answers is revealed. It really is that simple.
Today join me in His house and have a conversation with him. Lay your head on his chest and listen to his Heart. Move forward in confidence that He is with you and all the answers are at your fingertips. Embrace Him as He holds you close.
Be blessed today my friends.
***The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail. –Isaiah 58:11
