Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.

What is your biggest obstacle to fully committing to following our Lord Jesus Christ?

That’s a pretty bold question for so early in the morning. If you have not even had your first cup of coffee yet, or even the aroma of its nectar brewing, it could be extremely difficult to answer. However, I am nearly done with my first cup and have been sitting here for over a half hour wondering what I was going to write about. Then this question popped into my head.

Until that question popped into my head this morning, I was fairly confident I was doing exactly what I was supposed to be doing. Reflecting on my own life, I can see areas of required improvement. Just as an example … my language. Depending on the setting, it can be quite harsh and unpleasant to the Lord. Each time it happens; I am instantly convicted…yet it continues to happen.

So, Karalee, what is the biggest obstacle for you to committing fully to your Lord Jesus Christ?

The answer is me.

Until (I) decide to change, I won’t. Until (I) decide to commit, I won’t. Until (I) decide that I want to follow, I won’t. When I say these things, it is not because I am not following in other areas of my life, but the areas I am struggling in is because of a choice that I make every day. Some days are better than others, yet there is always a moment when I fell.

Now I know that I am going to fall and fall often. But, when I do not even make the effort to stop the fall, I am relying on MY strength and not His. Each day is a new opportunity. I cannot go back to yesterday and prevent myself from that gossip or that bad word, but today all I have done is drink coffee. I have not failed yet today. Today is a clean slate. Today I can make the choice to live as the world wants or I can choose to live as my Lord wishes. It is totally up to me. The circumstances that may occur have nothing to do with my choice. Those circumstances are placed there on purpose either by the enemy to trip me or my Father to test me. Either way, I must choose the path I walk.

I started my day with prayer. A good start. I have the right music in my ears and the song in my heart is that of being committed to the Father today. Will you join me?

Be blessed today my friends.

***For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. – Ephesians 2:8-10
