Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.
How is it going on those New Years Resolutions? This is day ten. Are we eating better? Are we exercising? Are we reading? Are we praying?
Personally, I am already struggling. My eating is hit and miss. I have given up soda for sweet tea, so the fake sugar and chemicals are gone, but the sugar is still there. My kidneys like me again. My reading is there, but not always timely. Like yesterday I had to do three days of devotions in two different books. Exercise…let’s just say that is a good joke. My feet still hurt so bad that just daily necessity walking is about all I can do. The one area that I am consistent in is prayer. So if I am going to excel in something thus far, I would call prayer a good area to excel in. Mind you, I am not War Room prayer…I am a morning and night prayer, but consistent.
As with most thoughts of change in our life, it takes a real commitment to make it happen. They say if you do something consistently for thirty days, it becomes a habit. This is true because I made the commitment back in November or earlier … to make it my mission to thank God both morning and night and then close with the Lords Prayer. I have been doing it for months. I made the commitment to stop drinking soda about thirty days ago and now I don’t even want it. I remember the headaches it caused, and I do not wish to have those anymore. I am trying to stay on board with the reading with my accountability partner, however, she is struggling the same as I am. However, we are persistent old women…we will be victorious. My eating habits…well that is a slow pace. I am moving away from processed foods and working on the outer aisles of the store. It is a process.
I am not winning any of my battles really, but I am not giving up either. By now some may have said I can’t or won’t do this because it is too hard. I would like to encourage you to take a deep breath and recommit to this journey of a better you. Join me in becoming the best you that you can, and I will commit to becoming the best me that I can. Will you join me?
Be blessed today my friends.
***But your hearts must be fully committed to the Lord our God, to live by his decrees and obey his commands, as at this time. – 1 Kings 8:61
