Yesterday I was watching a bug crawling in our yard. It looked like some type of beetle, and he was moseying along on his quest for food or shelter. To the bug, those rocks he was walking by were the size of houses, those blades of grass as tall as trees, and that little puddle of water a lake. From his perspective, his view of the world was totally different from mine. I could see much further and had a better understanding of all that exists. That little bug will spend his whole life in my backyard, oblivious to all that exists beyond his little world.

It is much the same for us. We see our world, travel here and there, look for food, shelter, and some purpose in life never truly able to see all that exists in God’s creation. Yet many of the inhabitants of this little planet amid God’s creation presume to judge God, deny his existence, and determine what He should or should not do. The truth is, we cannot comprehend Him in all His glory, in all His power, and the depth of His love. We simply have to have faith, believe in Him, and serve Him. Now I have no love for that bug in my yard, and if He tries to get into my house it will not end well for him, and yet God loves us so much and wants us to be in His house with Him. That’s why God gave us His Holy Spirit to lead us and His Word to guide us. Let it be so, for one day our eyes will be opened to see Him in all His glory, and experience all that God has for us.

1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

Isaiah 55:8-9 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Romans 11:33 Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!
