Good
morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.
After
a change in plans yesterday, I was blessed with a wonderfully lengthy
conversation with a dear friend of mine. We have not ‘spoken’ in years, but it
was almost like we had never stopped. Reasons behind our not conversing was
simply life. No trauma, just life’s circumstances. It was such a blessing.
With
the change in plans yesterday from a last-minute cancelled appointment, I was
able to rest myself. I was already scheduled off, so using yesterday to take of
me was a nice change. It also made me available to assist in things around the
house. I do know that I could be very tempting to never leave my house…it is cold
outside. Haha.
By
day’s end, I was given a third blessing. A potential opportunity to retire even
earlier than I had originally planned. As soon as the news broke of this
opportunity, I was on the email (it was after hours) to my retirement guy to run
the numbers. My mind had been a non-stop calculator ever since.
For
me, yesterday was a tri-fold blessing. I got to spend time without plans on a
day that normally has a lot of plans. I was blessed with a wonderful
conversation with someone who I respect and care about. With a final touch of
what I have been praying for, ‘tell me when to retire.’ Naturally, the retirement
one was thought to be in the spring of next year and I was sweating numbers for
then, but this one, seems like He has placed in my lap for the next leg of my
journey.
Now
I could start playing the guessing game if I wanted. Did the enemy do this to
persuade me off my real course? Am I making a mistake? If I am worried about
the spring, why wouldn’t I be terrified of the year earlier mark. All valid questions.
All valid points. However, I cannot trust me to get myself up and out the door
on time, but I can and do trust Him to make sure that I am diligent in those
tiny details, so why wouldn’t I trust Him in this. I have laid this all at his
feet and I am pressing forward to the end. If He shows me that I am waiting,
then I am waiting. But I cannot believe that He did not orchestrate this because
he sees something I cannot. I trust in Him who saved me. Now I just need to
stay out of his way.
Be
blessed today my friends.
***Trust
in the Lord with all your heat and lean not on your own understanding; in all
ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. – Proverbs 3:5-6
