Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.

Yesterday I was notified of another competition that apparently, I have entered. And forgotten about. It is not uncommon for me to forget I have entered something because they offer the early registrations way in advance so by the time the event gets here, I am clueless that I did it. So now, now I have three stories to write for three different competitions. Plus, we will not forget the fourth book in the series. I am beginning to think that I must think that I am already retired because this is a lot of brain power being asked of me and…rather that I volunteered for. I am not sure that I have that much brain power up there. Haha.

I was not the smartest kid in school. My grades were average at best. It was not that I could not be in the top tier of class, I think that I could have easily finished in the upper portion of high school class, however … in order to do that …. You must work at it. You must read and like reading. You must be willing to put in the effort to be successful in that area. I did not have that drive. I went to school because my parents told me I had to. I went to school because it was what we did. I did not hate school; I just did not want to participate like all the brainiacs. In order for me to be ‘successful’ in school, I would have had to apply myself. To be honest, I did not do very much applying. I graduated somewhere in the middle of my class, and I am okay with that. I graduated so I am successful.

Today I have found a talent for writing and a gift for making people smile. Today I am successful. Looking back at my high school years, I would not count them as unsuccessful to me. I did not have the desire or fortitude to be any better than I was. I was who I was for a purpose. That purpose is to be God’s vessel now. That purpose is to show the world that money, good grades, ‘success,’ are not always the way for God’s success stories. David was a shepherd. Samson was blowhard. Daniel was meager man. Peter was a fisherman. Jesus was a carpenter’s son. All of whom came from small places yet moved mountains of obstacles for the honor of serving God.

When you look at your successfulness, do you look at what the world considers success, or do you look at what God says is success? There is a huge difference. Today take a moment and give God the glory for the successes in your life. Look at all you have achieved. Look at where you came from, the way people looked then and the way they look now. God is a masterful carpenter and does not make mistakes. You are successful.

Be blessed today my friends.

***Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. – John 14:27
