Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.

When I worked at the factory…many years ago, somehow, I was able to land the job in quality control/training. Looking back, I find this hilarious because the product I would produce from the line was frequently returned because I could not see the tint differences or the minor (but noticeable) differences in the slats of wood. On the training side of things, I was better in the area of making graphs and explanation booklets but still, what I saw I the slats and such … well that really wasn’t a job for me. Looking back I find it hilarious that I made it that far.

Many times I would be in arguments with my bosses about the quality we were sending out and how I was trying to help. I know “I think” I was right, but I am pretty sure that I wasn’t in most cases because I could not differentiate the colors. However, that job provided me with freedom to move about the factory and not be stationary. So when I hit my rock bottom and freaked out, I was able to secure myself in a bathroom reserved for us and not cause a disruption on the floor. Once I was calm enough to leave, I could leave without any issues or causing a scene. God placed me in that job for that moment. The woman who helped me calm down, was sent by God.

When I left that job to join the post office, I was full time with good benefits. I was going to a part time job with excellent benefits and no delay in receiving those benefits, for the benefits started the day my first day. Now, in the post office, I have learned and grown into an established leader and trainer.

I applied to the factory because I needed a job. God gave me that job to start the molding process. When I left that job of security in hours and pay, they all thought I was crazy. But without any fear or hesitation, I knew that it was a good move. To be perfectly honest, I really did not know anything about the post office when I applied. I was truly postal dumb; however, it was the best leap of faith I have ever made.

Now I am in a position to make another leap of faith. The leap of retirement. I have spoken that my plan was to retire early, however, that early may be much earlier than originally projected. I have a meeting with my retirement guy today…to discuss retiring in April of this year. Since this opportunity first presented itself, I have been at peace with it. The world is trying hard to throw obstacles in my way, but I still have peace … even with all the uglies that I can see.

Change is a scary thing. We all want absolute certainties in place to know that we are safe. However, sometimes we have to trust the process. I tried to climb the ladder in the post office too soon and it cost me dearly financially, however that climb was a learning curve to better prepare me for what God had in store for me. When I applied for that position, all I saw was the dollar sign for my paycheck, what God saw was an education for His glory.

What are you afraid of today? What leap of faith are you struggling with? Take time today and go to Him, express your fears and listen quietly for his voice. If you ask, he will answer. I am living proof.

Be blessed today my friends.

***Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways declares the Lord. –Isaiah 55:6,8
