Opening Scripture before the Message
Isaiah 55:11 GNB Rainbow So also will be the word that I speak--it will not fail to do what I plan for it; it will do everything I send it to do.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching the truth, rebuking error, correcting faults, and giving instruction for right living,
so that the person who serves God may be fully qualified and equipped to do every kind of good deed.
2 Peter 1:19-21 So we are even more confident of the message proclaimed by the prophets. You will do well to pay attention to it, because it is like a lamp shining in a dark place until the Day dawns and the light of the morning star shines in your heats.
Above all else, however, remember that no one can explain by himself or herself a prophesy in the Scriptures.
For no prophetic message ever came just from human will, but people were under the control of the Holy Spirit as they spoke the message that came from God.
How to hear and understand the Gospel
The LORD Answers Job
Job 38:1-3 Then out of the storm the LORD spoke to Job.
The LORD
Who are you to question my wisdom with your ignorant, empty words?
Now stand up straight and answer the questions I ask you.
Job 40:6-7 Then out of the storm the LORD spoke to Job once again.
The LORD
Stand up straight now, and answer my questions.
Job 42:4-7 You told me to listen while you spoke and to try to answer your questions.
In the past I knew only what others had told me, but now I have seen you with my own eyes.
So I am ashamed of all I have said and repent in dust and ashes.
Conclusion
After the LORD had finished speaking to Job, he said to Eliphaz, "I am angry with you and your two friends, because you did not speak the truth about me, as my servant Job did.
Romans 10:14-17 But how can they call to him for help if they have not believed? And how can they believe if they have not heard the message? And how can they hear if the message is not proclaimed?
And how can the message be proclaimed if the messengers are not sent out? As the scripture says, "How wonderful is the coming of messengers who bring good news!"
But not all have accepted the Good News. Isiah himself said, "Lord, who believed our message?"
So then, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message comes through preaching Christ.
Acts 26:17-18 I will rescue you from the people of Israel and from the Gentiles to whom I will send you.
You are to open their eyes and turn them from the darkness to the light and from the power of Satan to God, so that through their faith in me they will have their sins forgiven and receive their place among God's chosen people.'
Romans 15:4-7 Everything written in the Scriptures was written to teach us, in order that we might have hope through the patience and encouragement which the Scriptures give us.
And may God, the source of patience and encouragement, enable you to have the same point of view among yourselves by following the example of Christ Jesus,
so that all of you together may praise with one voice the God and Father of our Lord Jeus Christ.
Good News for the Gentiles
Accept one another, then, for the glory of God, as Christ has accepted you.
