If someone handed you a handful of Cheerios and told you they were donut seed, would you be so gullible as to believe it? I wouldn't think so Yet every day Satan tries to pass off his lies and deceptions onto us hoping we will take the bait. Oh, he is sneaky about it often waiting until we are hurt, frustrated, or disappointed. He will whisper into our ear things like, “God doesn’t really care about you”, “You can never be a Christian so just give up” or “You have plenty of time so enjoy life as long as you can before making things right with God”. One of Satan's most effective is the old deception “Just trust or listen to your heart”. Your heart or emotions will deceive you and cannot be trusted. Never go by your feelings, but go by the Word of God. Your emotions will change, but God’s Word never will. So the next time the old Devil tries to pawn off on you a handful of Cheerios and tells you they are donut seeds, send him on his way. Resist him and he must flee. James 4:7 Submit yourselves, then, to God.
