Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.

Yesterday we had made plans to run away and do nothing but see the sites. Instead, we ran away from the comfort of our front room sofa and watched television all day. We ate crappy (for us) junk food and caught up on all our shows, not just our doctor’s one. We spent the entire day together with little interference from phone calls or texts. I sat for so long that I think I pulled a muscle in my side from no movement. What can I say, I am weird, and it is a gift.

We were never meant to run non-stop until we fell over. We were meant to have a day of rest. Now whether that day is on Sunday or Thursday, is no difference. But a day of rest is needed for a variety of reasons. Mind you, the day of rest was meant to be an honor to our Father in heaven who created us and sent His son to die for us, however, if we do not learn to turn off the world how we will ever learn to turn on His abundant love? It is very difficult on a day-to-day basis to shut out that which is not of Him. However, if we take a day to rest. Truly rest. Not laundry. Not the trash. Not picking up. Not the dishes. But rest. Then it is much easier to let down our internal pretenses and truly seek his face.

Friends, take a moment to look at the exhaustion in your life. If God needed a day off, then what makes you think that you do not? Yesterday was wonderful and I feel refreshed and ready for the world. This kink in my side will go away as I keep moving, but the peace that I received from a day off, priceless.

Be blessed today my friends.

***And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done. – Genesis 2:3
