Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.

Yesterday I discussed taking a day of rest. Just rest. No laundry. No chores. Just a day of rest. I have found that if I ‘plan’ such a day, the world gets in my way. Usually my ‘rest’ day is because I am sick, or my husband is sick. It usually comes to being forced by God to chill out and stop. He loves me so much that he will do whatever it takes to make me wake up and see what has been in front of me the whole time. He sends clues of needed respite, and I usually discard them quickly and easily. So, He designs a way for me to have to pay attention.

In those moments of needed rest, He presents himself to me in a variety of different ways. The other day he presented himself throughout the shows that we watched. Their story lines. Their back music. The fun that my husband and I had poking fun at the day and each other. He, my Father in heaven, came to my house to make sure that I took a chill day.

I can only think of one time that I planned and executed a moment in time for Him. I wrote about it when it happened. I sat for literal hours in silence in his presence in the back part of our property. Now that was peace.

I find a lot of my solace in my writing, however, it can become encumbering quickly. It is as though I have, not God…me, turned it into a chore, a requirement, a job. This is not what my writing was supposed to be, it was supposed to be an avenue to Him. As we do, we try to make it better to show our appreciation, however, it was perfect when He gave it to us.

When you find your (day off). When you (decide) to follow through. When you (choose) to listen to His voice and take a day. You will (feel) so much better. Your mind will (be) clearer. Your thoughts of the (world) expectations will disappear and you will see (clearly) His thoughts and expectations.

I pray that you will find it in you too, if only for a short time such as a couple of hours, to find Him in a quiet place and embrace His peace. It is so worth it.

Be blessed today my friends.

*** 28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” – Matthew 11:28-30
