Good morning to everyone. Grace and peace be with you.

Let me start off with a praise this morning. My husband had his Inspire device implanted yesterday. The day was a rough one in the hospital, not for us in particular, but schedules got pushed back 2.5 hours. Consequently, his surgery did not happen until the mid to late afternoon. All that aside, he did wonderful. The surgery went well, and he was tucked into his room by 8pm. I was home by 930. I have text/talked to him this morning and he is ready for a box of donuts and a steak/egg platter. God is great.

What is your hell?

What a way to transition from a praise right? But what is your hell? What is so hellish for you here on earth that you battle constantly every day?

Relationships. Financial. Employment. Or lack thereof.

What if we go a little more personal?

Anxiety. Depression. Hopelessness. Disappointment. Worthlessness.

What is going on in your day-to-day life, that you cannot see or accept joy? Is it the combination off all or most of the above listed targets that the enemy uses to rob you of your God given gift of peace?

My hell on earth. Lack of common sense or what I perceive to be the lack of common sense. That is my number one issue in life. To walk about this beautiful planet with seemingly stupid people who have no clue. Pretty harsh and unchristian right? What if those that I presume to be lacking common sense…they see that in me? Eww. Flipped the script.

My hell on earth. It was Anxiety and Depression. It was Alcohol. It was Disappointment. It was Financial (still is to some degree). It was (and still is to some degree) Employment.
My hell on earth…it is the same, in some degree, as yours. No I am not homeless or starving. I am not abused or rock bottomed. But my hell is no less invasive to me, as your hell is to you. My hell on earth is acceptance. Both for me to be accepted and for me to accept others that I wholeheartedly disagree with.

Hell is not just some fiery, sulfur smelling, region of underground that lacks proper climate control. Hell is where Satan plants it. Our minds. Because he knows that he will not get all of us. Because he knows that he is losing. Because he knows that we serve a God who will lock him away in the “hell” that he deserves on Judgement Day, the enemy is doing all that he can to produce a hell on earth. Because he knows that he is losing, the enemy is pulling out all the stops. Politics. Gas lighting. Religion. He has no boundaries.

So, what is the next step? How do we combat the enemy? How do we lessen our hell on earth?

First and foremost we pray in faith that God is standing on he covenant to never leave or forsake us. We target those areas in our hell and pray sternly for recompense of peace. We pray specific prayers focused on those pieces of hell and send the enemy packing. In those prayers, though it seems ridiculous, pray a prayer of thanksgiving for that trial. Why would thank God for your hell, because while you are walking through and growing, you are establishing a cornerstone to help someone else down the road to realize that they are not alone when they enter their hell.

Second, and no less important, we love. Yes love. We push through the dark days and find Love. It could be as simple as a flower poking up through the snow. Or it could be a compliment from someone you do not agree with. It could be a raise. It could be simply the temperature rising a few degrees. Love is not all about personal interaction, Love is God presenting himself to you in a variety of ways to let you know that you are not alone. When actively seek Love, hell disappears.

Third, share. Let others in so that you will have a support system. Trust that those you have entrusted with your hell will understand and hold you up. God will lead people into your life that will help navigate you through your hell. Do not put up a barrier but allow them to get close and hold you firm in your place in your heaven on earth instead of you sinking further into your hell.

Fourth, kick the enemy to the curb. Stand on the faith of a mustard seed and know, in your deepest and most guarded self, that God is with you. That he has never left you. That he is not punishing you. That he is growing you. Take the hell you are in and flip script on the enemy…take your hell and embrace it for the growth and love and peace that will be waiting for you on the other side…AND …. While you walk through. Do not let the enemy produce a hell that you cannot conquer … show him that you can find peace and joy in all circumstances because you have Love.

Be blessed today my friends.
