Good morning friends - Today's Blessing (January 24th 2025) for you and I!
Trusting and Honoring God with First Fruits
Proverbs 3:9–10 calls us to trust in the Lord with our resources and wisdom. By honoring God with the first fruits of our labor, we demonstrate our trust and reliance on Him rather than worldly wealth.
This act of prioritizing God fosters a heart of contentment, reminding us that true godliness is found in being content with what we have, not in relentless pursuits of more.
Honoring God means acknowledging His sovereignty by giving back the first and best of what we receive. This sacrificial act is an expression of placing God above all in our lives, including any false dependencies or idols in which we might lean upon.
As we do this, God's promise is to fill our barns with abundance—not solely material, but spiritual richness as well.
God’s promises are clear: generosity without expectation is met with blessings. Yet, giving to receive contradicts the principle of genuine generosity.
Knowing God deeply and inviting Him into every corner of our lives brings us His righteousness, allowing us access to His abundance.
This leads to a fulfilling path ordained by Him and empowers us to live out the calling He has placed on our lives. Malachi 3:10 and Luke 19:17-26 echo this, highlighting the blessings tied to faithful stewardship of our resources.
Heavenly Father, we praise You for being our ultimate provider and guide. We commit to honor You with the first and best of what You’ve entrusted us with.
Teach us to rest in Your promises, finding true contentment and joy in You. May our lives reflect Your abundance in generosity, and let us be faithful in stewarding all You've given us.
Empower us to trust in You alone, inviting Your divine wisdom into every decision, and may each action glorify Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
May your day be filled with the presence of God, guiding every step you take. As you trust in Him and honor Him with your resources, may He open the storehouses of heaven and pour His blessings upon you.
May your life overflow with His love, peace, and joy, illuminating the path set before you. Walk confidently in His grace, for He is your provider and sustainer.
With much love,
Pastor John
