THE UNSEALING OF THE BOOK OF DANIEL, AND THE PROCLAMATION OF THE THREE ANGELS MESSAGES.

In the tenth chapter of the book of Revelation, a mighty angel (messenger) has a message to proclaim from the "little book that is open" in his hand. What is this little book open?

Revelation 10:8-10 And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey. And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.

Daniel 12:4,9 ...'But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased ... And he said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are CLOSED UP and sealed till the time of the end.'

The book of Daniel is that little book which was closed up and sealed, until the 'time of the end.' Therefore the little book that the angel had in his hand which was 'opened,' as the original Greek signifies, was the book of Daniel. This means the book of Daniel, which was once sealed and closed, was at a certain point in time unsealed, and as Daniel 12 above says, 'knowledge would increase' regarding the prophecies of Daniel.

Eating of the Little Book.

What does it mean to eat something? It simply means to take something into your body and digest it. This we do through our mouths with food. But what about a book and writing? How do we eat this? We eat this by reading, studying and taking it through our eyes into our minds. Food goes into our stomachs through our mouths and words go into our minds through our eyes. But both are 'digested' if done properly.

So did anything take place around 1844 that fulfills what the angel said in Revelation 10? Yes! William Miller and our the Adventist pioneers did what the angel in Revelation 10 said - to 'eat the little open book,' (the book of Daniel), in other words, deeply study it, and they came to the truth regarding the 2300 'days' prophecy of Daniel, understanding that it reached to 1844. The only thing they didn't understand before 1844 was what 'the sanctuary' which was to be cleansed was. The mainstream belief back then was that the sanctuary was the earth. And so the earth could only be cleansed at the second coming of Christ, which is why they then proclaimed that Christ was coming in 1844. This was the 'sweet' taste of 'eating' the book of Daniel. But it became 'bitter' in the belly when Christ didn't come.

So Revelation 10 is a prophecy of the Adventist movement in the mid 1800's.

But wait! They originally misunderstood the prophecy of the cleansing of the sanctuary and wrongly proclaimed the second coming of Christ. Does that make them a false movement? No. Look at how much the disciples got wrong regarding Christ and His kingdom. They thought His first coming was to conquer and release them from the Roman yoke. Did that make them a false movement? No. Christ corrected their wrong views, just as Christ corrected the wrong belief of our Adventist pioneers thinking the earth was the sanctuary that was to be cleansed at the end of the 2300 years in 1844. The misunderstanding was even prophesied to happen in Revelation 10, saying the opened book (the book of Daniel) was to be 'bitter' in their belly.

Listen. The 'opening' of the 'little book' of Revelation 10 has to be the book of Daniel, and especially the time prophecies from Daniel 8 to Daniel 12, because this was the only book and prophecy that was CLOSED and SEALED until the 'time of the end.' The angel says that 'time would be no longer,' pointing to the fulfilling of prophetic time of Daniel. When you study the prophetic time of Daniel, especially the 2300 'day' prophecy, you will see that what our Adventist pioneers preached is the truth and there is no other truth regarding that prophecy. Therefore, the Bible confirms that the Adventist movement which began in the early to mid 1800's was ordained of God.
